Colli Borbonici® and sport: supporting the young Hitachi Rail engineers in the beach volleyball tournament

There are occasions when supporting an initiative means sharing something that goes well beyond the sporting result. It is in this spirit that Colli Borbonici® chose to support a team participating in the corporate beach volleyball tournament of Hitachi Rail STS, Naples branch, organized by CRAL Ansaldo Trasporti.

An event born outside the workplace, but capable of bringing together colleagues and friends through sport, competition, and, above all, the desire to be together.

Octopussy: young engineers from design to the beach volleyball court

The team sponsored by Colli Borbonici® bears a name that is certainly hard to forget: Octopussy.

Behind the name is a small anecdote born right in the daily life of the company. A typo that appeared on the canteen menu became a source of irony among colleagues and, with the playful spirit that characterizes such moments, it was transformed into the team's name.

A lighthearted episode that captures the spirit with which the team approached the tournament.

Octopussy is in fact composed of a group of young engineers involved in design activities within Hitachi Rail: professionals accustomed to working together every day, discussing ideas, and tackling complex problems who, for once, transferred their collaboration and team spirit from the design office to the beach volleyball court.

And the results did not fail to materialize: Octopussy took second place in the tournament.

Not just competition: sport, well-being, and human relationships

The result achieved is certainly a source of satisfaction, but it was not the main reason that prompted Colli Borbonici® to support the initiative.

We wanted to make our small contribution to an amateur event capable of promoting values we believe in.

Practicing sports means taking care of one's physical and mental well-being, but events of this type also have another important function: they allow people to meet outside of professional dynamics and roles.

In a highly technical environment such as engineering and railway design, creating opportunities to cultivate social relationships outside of work, collaboration, and a sense of belonging can have a value that goes far beyond a single match.

From Oliveto Citra to Naples, supporting people

Colli Borbonici® was born among the olive groves of Oliveto Citra, in the province of Salerno, and our business remains deeply tied to agriculture and the territory of the Upper Sele Valley; however, our ability to weave relationships knows no boundaries, supporting a completely different reality: young professionals, sport, and socializing in the Neapolitan corporate context.

Two seemingly distant worlds, yet united by something very simple: people.

That is why we are happy to have accompanied Octopussy on this experience and, naturally, to be able to congratulate the whole team on the second-place finish.
